Returning to Balance in Real Lifeđź’«
In my previous reflection, I shared the story of my burnout and the stroke that became a turning point in my life. That was the beginning of KarĂtas FLOW.
But people sometimes ask me what life actually looks like now.
Do I just slow down all the time?
Do I live quietly, doing yoga and meditation every day?
The honest answer is: not at all.
Today I might actually be busier than ever. I am building my own company, teaching classes, creating new material, and being present for my daughters and family across different countries. Life is full, dynamic, and sometimes demanding.
The difference is not that life became slower.
The difference is that I now know where my balance lies.
And that has changed everything.
I have never taken better care of myself than I do today. Physically, mentally, and emotionally I feel stronger and more stable than I have in many years.
That doesn’t mean I sit at home breathing all day. It means I have learned how to listen earlier — before stress, tension, or exhaustion take over.
Balance, for me, is not about perfect routines or strict rules.
It is about noticing when something feels right in my body and mind.
When I feel clear, energized and grounded, even in a busy life. And of course that balance shifts.
Work, family, environment, travel, responsibilities, and relationships all influence it. My life is spread across Denmark, Iceland, and now also Indonesia after reconnecting with my biological family earlier this year. My daughters live in different places, and sometimes my heart feels like it belongs in several places at once.
Life is not simple — and balance is not something we “find” once and keep forever.
Instead, balance is something we learn to return to.
For me, practices like yoga, meditation, breathwork, and mindful movement have simply become tools that help me notice when I am moving too far away from that place.
Sometimes the solution is movement in any kind of form, to rest or a pause for a few conscious breaths.
Sometimes it is a reflection of my habits, routines, and do some changes, or setting a new goal for inspiration.
The goal is not to become a perfect, calm person.
The goal is to build a stronger connection to yourself, so you know how to come back when life pulls you in many directions.
This is what I share through KarĂtas FLOW.
Not a lifestyle where everything becomes slow and quiet.
But a way of living where we can be ambitious, active, and present in life — while still staying connected to our body, breath, and inner balance.
It is about knowing when to move forward — and when to return to yourself again.
With warmth,
KarĂtas
