Nourish & Protect Your Energy

Last month, I wrote about falling in love with patience. About allowing myself time to settle into a new chapter, a new home, new routines and everything that comes with change.

And as October comes to an end, I realize that patience has been teaching me something else, too - To become more aware of where my energy goes.

These past weeks have been full. A new job with growing responsibilities, family life, travelling, teaching, and the everyday challenges of finding my feet in a different environment.

Some days I’ve felt inspired, motivated and full of energy. Other days, overwhelmed, disconnected and simply tired.

The practices that have always helped me feel grounded — yoga, meditation, movement and mindful breathing — have slowly become something I mostly do when I’m teaching others, because life got busy.

And isn’t that something so many of us recognize? The very things that nourish us are often the first things we put aside when life becomes demanding.

A little reminder that I needed myself:

We cannot always control what demands our energy. But we can become more conscious of how we spend it, what drains it, and what helps us restore it.

Throughout October, I’ve been exploring energy with my meditation students. And those moments of breathing, practicing and connecting together have reminded me how powerful it can be to just be aware of your own energy -  in order to influence your physical and emotional health.

Not to escape everyday life, but to return to it with a little more clarity and presence.

I’m also learning that protecting our energy isn’t always about doing less. Sometimes it’s about making room for more of what makes us feel alive.

For me, that means reconnecting with my own practice, creating, moving, teaching and giving FLOW the space it deserves in my life.

As November approaches, I’m taking that reminder with me.

To nourish what matters. To protect what gives me strength. And to remember that balance isn’t something we achieve once and for all. It’s something we keep returning to.

And sometimes, shifting our energy can be surprisingly simple.

Put on your favourite music on those dark mornings, sing along, dance a little in the kitchen. Spend time with people who make you laugh and feel good. Nourish yourself with colourful, fresh food and drinks. Step outside, breathe in the fresh air, move your body, or simply change your surroundings - maybe clean one closet in your home:-).

Small choices can make a big difference in how we feel.

Notice what lifts your energy, and make more room for it.

With love,
Karítas 🤍
